As a platform hacker you will only work with digital content. Therefore, you have to use different kinds of software. But there is so much software out there! How can you find the right tool that fits to your platform hack or business model?
I tried to cut down the need of different software to different stages. E.g. first you have to do some market or keyword research, therefore I recommend you different research tools to get the information you need. I will try to cover up the most common tools for the most common platform.
Next step you may need to edit your content, so you will need some editing tools. You see where this is going.
I only recommend software I’m using myself, so I can base my recommendation on my own experience. Of course there are other software tools I don’t know or I don’t use for any reason, so please consider my recommendations as an orientation to do deeper researches before spending money on expensive software.
Also, if you know any software tools I do not know, feel free to give me some recommendations as well!
Market Research Tools
The beginning of all platform hacks is a proper research. Therefore, you start with a market research. Who is your target group/buyer persona. Can you find your target group on your selected platform? How big is your target audience? How old is your target group? What does your target audience does on the platform? Who do they follow? What content do they like? What is their average watch time and response rate? On what devices do they consume content?
All these are questions you can answer with a proper market research. To do so, I want to recommend you some consumer studies and online tools, so you can check on your target group.
Also, I give you a free “ideal customer sheet”, so you can fill out an exemplary dream follower/client/customer/consumer. This will help you, to have a clearer image in mind when you create your content. Imagine you’re publishing all your content for that dream customer, and one day, you will meet that dream customer in your target group.
Keyword Research Tools
If you are a blogger or if you post frequently on platforms, you will need to use the right keywords. Keywords (and in a further approach #hashtags) are elementary to be successful on platforms. All platforms work with algorithms. These algorithms are in 95% out of 100% also using keywords to rank and to evaluate you, your profile or your post. So you better do your keyword research properly.
Here I want to recommend you some research tools to find out, which keywords (or hashtags) you shout post in your profile or content.
As always, feel free to recommend me software I do not know, you’re using and have made a great experience with 🙂
If you are not sure what and if you need additional software, check out the ultimate hackers roadmap, that will help you to develop your hacking strategy on any platform.
Image Editing Tools
Some platforms work very visual. Therefore, you need good photos or graphics. I want to present you my favorite image editing software tools and apps. Also, I will recommend you some great platforms you can use to outsource your image or video editing.
Video Editing Tools
Some platforms work exclusively with videos (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo), others are open to video content. In any way, when you want to work with videos, you’ll have to edit and cut them properly. Videos can be a very strong branding support and should definitely always be considered. I will help and recommend you some easy to use video editing software and mobile apps.
Recording and Cutting Software
You can either record and cut sound content (e.g. for podcasts or music platforms) or you can record your computer Screen (e.g. for Video courses). In order to make a good recording, let me recommend you some software tools I have tested.
Content Organizing Tools
Publish automized on different channels, organize your content planner, plan content in advance, outsource your content, find guest authors, publish in different content formats…etc.
All these are topics I want to cover in this part of this blog.
When your final goal is to make some profit out of your platform success you should use monitoring software. These data driven tools let you know how you performed. They can calculate your daily or weekly success, document you return on invest, let you know how your Ad campaign performed and how many clicks your post earned. These tools are super duper important to drive successful campaigns and help you grow very fast. If you really want to scale up, check on monitoring software. Here I want to give you a few recommendations for the most common platforms.
